What about terrible weather events on the increase?
#1
I meet many warmists who are convinced that we are getting a large increase in bad weather in America, and they refer to climate models and media distortions to support their claim.

What does the official data say?

Droughts,

Precipitation,

Landfalling Hurricanes,

Strong Tornadoes,

Heatwaves,

There is more coming to show how wrong they are,as they wallow in their miserable outlook in the future.

Yeah, where they now center on a single storm that proves global warming. It is so dumb, since there is no way you make such a determination on it, for any particular climate metric.

It is the warmists shallow thinking that needs to go away.

Erratic weather conditions are almost always attributed to a downward movement in global temperatures.  The beginnings of the Little ice age of the 14th century witnessed massive rains that washed away crops.  Hail was also common.   None of this was ever recorded as the climate temperatures climbed higher.

Warming is characterized with smooth increases.  Even hurricanes tend to turn northward well before striking land of the Eastern Seaboard.   Hurricanes of the 18th and 19th centuries belie this.  AGW wackos have all this "Bass Ackwards" as they ventilate their dreams of disaster.

What is it about human nature that we always seem so fascinated with disaster, to the point of obsession?  Just look at all the horror movies that never seem to end.  Cry

I agree with your main trust of your post,JL.

However I was talking about a SINGLE storm being used as proof of global warming, and that we should do something about it. The absurdity in doing so doesn't seem to seep into their fevered minds. There are always exceptions to the rule in life, including that unusual storm they foam at the mouth over.
