News guidelines
#1
I have created this post for a reason,to protect the forum and ourselves from abusing the fair use copyright laws;I will post an example of a post showing that we should use the standard format here in writing up the post.

Example with my comments in Blue:

DESMOGBLOG.COM

Always write in the name of the source at the top

Heartland Institute Condemned for "Major Ethical Transgression"

Bolding and posting the EXACT title make's it legitimate and stand out.

May 2,2008

By Richard Littlemore

The Date and Author should be written if available. In blogs that is not always possible but at least the NAME of the blog was above the article headline.

Write in the word EXCERPT here,to show that what is below is only a sample of the article.

Here is a brief taste of some of the emails that have been flying this week to the Heartland Institute in protest over their distribution of a purported scientific paper that announces 500 Scientists with Documented Doubts about Man-Made Global Warming Scares.

Notwithstanding these requests - and many more, as well - as of 4 p.m. EST on Friday, May 2, 2008, the offending article remained on the Heartland website with the names all still attached. There is no apology, clarification or correction. It's as if Heartland President and CEO Joseph Bast just doesn't care about the accuracy of his output or the credibility of his organization ....

When you post an Excerpt of the article,it should never be no more than 25% of the article and better to be less.To help drive traffic to the source of the article and to stay out of trouble with copyright violation claims.Anyone who post more than 25% will be asked to have it trimmed or simply deleted by the Moderator if way over 25% of the sourced article was posted.

Always post the link back to the source of the news article, either at the top or bottom of the post you write.

If you have any questions about this posting guideline, please PM about it.

It is our attitude toward free thought and free expression that will determine our fate. There must be no limit on the range of temperate discussion, no limits on thought. No subject must be taboo. No censor must preside at our assemblies.

–William O. Douglas, U.S. Supreme Court Justice, 1952
